The Dalles Dam (#0306)
The Dalles Dam was finished in 1957, is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is 200’ (61m) high, and waters from the dam wiped out an economic and cultural hub of Native Americans from the region. On the north side of the dam is a navigation lock; unfortunately due to security precautions, it wasn’t possible to photograph the lock.
