Portland Union Pacific yard (#0198)
Very distinctive smokestack in the Albina Yard of the Union Pacific in Portland. The yard has been used by various railroads for the past century; the brick smokestack was built in in 1887 for Northern Pacific Terminal Company. The smokestack was originally part of a very large warehouse/distribution building, the building was demolished in 2008 but the smokestack was maintained (with added lighting) as a community gesture by Union Pacific.
