Farmington NM environment (#201)

Farmington NM environment (#201)
For those wanting an image linked to the EPA/Gold King mining environmental disaster in Colorado, here's the Animas River in a park in downtown Farmington, NM. The mine, north of here in Colorado, had a large volume of toxic waste that the EPA accidentally breached (3 million gallons (Denver Post link)) as it was trying to deal with the waste. The runoff is changing the color of the water as it runs downstream (see the CNN link below) and the long term consequences of the toxic and heavy metal contamination is unknown. This photo is taken at what was a very nice riverside park in Farmington, NM.

(Photo is from a 2008 trip through the area).
