Sacramento river, on the back side of Dunsmuir City Park. Not visible, but just behind the trees on the opposite bank, are the tracks for the major Southern Pacific (now UP) route from Oregon to California. What is significant here is that the largest hazardous chemical spill in California's history (to this date) happened just north of here when an SP train derailed and spilled a chemical that destroyed life for 41 miles downstream (see link below). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunsmuir,_California
