An example of a classic 'gay diner', Orphan Andy's is typical of the places to go for greasy food and a friendly face after a night of cruising, a place to take (show off) your trick from the night before for breakfast, or just a general location to connect with community. It hasn't changed from when I first hung out there in the late 70's -- and the rumor has always been that it is actually not gay-owned. (Part of a series of photos documenting the parts of the Castro district that have been significant parts of gay culture since at least the 1980's.)
