Though not a particularly interesting picture, this rail line is historically important. I could not find detailed information, so this is pieced together from various maps. Per maps, the Western Pacific Feather River direct route comes from Gerlach, NV to Portola, CA without going down to Reno. When the route was built, Reno was not a major destination and it was already served by the Central Pacific. At some a later point the Western Pacific bought a section of a small railroad that would provide a connection to Reno. That connection apparently is no longer regularly used, probably because the former Western Pacific is now owned by Union Pacific which also owns the former Central Pacific transcontinental route that goes through Reno.
