Yelloway (ATL) A311 XHE in Bury St. Edmunds – 2 Jan 1988 (60-25)
Saturday 2 January 1988 – In July 1985 the Yelloway business which had been managed by the Allen family for more than 50 years was sold to a new owner. Changes ensued which might have portrayed an air of an optimistic future that sadly was not going to be.

The new owners chose to hand over the Yelloway long distance coach services to National Express for which Yelloway became a contracted operator.

A311 XHE was a Jonckheere Deauville bodied Volvo B10M new to National Travel (East) in December 1983. It had been transferred to Yelloway from SUT Limited. National Travel (East), SUT and Yelloway had all been under the same ownership.

It was seen in St. Andrew’s Street North, Bury St. Edmunds when working the 1140 National Express service 351 from Harwich to Manchester and Burnley.
