HBM/HTT: Fenland Busfest at Whittlesey - 15 May 2022 (P1110863)

Sunday 15 May 2022 (1307) – The Fenland Busfest at Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire. The rally is held in the town centre occupying Broad Street and Market Street with the rally control/bus ride departures centred on the Market Place.

Arriving to take up a run to Peterborough is preserved C653 LJR, an Eastern Coachworks bodied Leyland Olympian new to Northern General Transport in August 1985.

Two former Whippet Coaches vehicles are also in the photograph both preserved by members of Eastern Bus Enthusiasts, the organisers of the Busfest event. Left is H303 CAV, a Northern Counties bodied Volvo B10M Citybus new in September 1990, bound for Ramsey. In the centre background is Whippet Coaches VAV 160X, a Plaxton Supreme VI bodied Volvo B10M new in April 1982, which had just arrived back from March.

HBM: A tenuous link to Happy Bench Monday are the bench tables outside the George Hotel which was doing a very good trade.
