Sunday 17 September 1989 – A line up of Cambus vehicles parked on Cowley Road near the company’s Cambridge garage. Cambus Limited was created in September 1984 when the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company was split in readiness for privatisation and former ECOC vehicles made up most of the initial fleet. Privatisation took place in December 1986 following which a number of secondhand buses surplus to the requirements of the Greater Manchester PTE and West Yorkshire PTE were acquired. This line-up includes buses from those sources. Some of the GMPTE buses had been new to Lancashire United Transport which was a GMPTE subsidiary. From left to right:
