Cambus line up at Cowley Road, Cambridge - 17 Sep 1989
Sunday 17 September 1989 – A line up of Cambus Leyland Nationals parked on Cowley Road near the company’s Cambridge garage. Cambus Limited was created in September 1984 when the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company was split in readiness for privatisation and former ECOC vehicles made up most of the initial fleet. Privatisation took place in December 1986 following which a number of secondhand buses were acquired from Greater Manchester PTE which had been new to Lancashire United Transport, a GMPTE subsidiary. From left to right:

227 (XNG 760S) Leyland National 1 originally ECOC (LN760)
301 (PEX 612W) Leyland National 2 originally ECOC (LN612)
266 (PTD 671S) Leyland National 1 new to LUT (534)
261 (NEN 960R) Leyland National 1 new to LUT (214)

(On the far left are 800 (OBN 511R), a Northern Counties bodied Leyland Fleetline new to LUT (494) and 803 (PRJ 487R), a Northern Counties bodied Daimler Fleetline new to GMPTE (7487)).
