Lakeland Coaches X906 RHG at Whalley - 31 May 2001

Lakeland Coaches X906 RHG at Whalley - 31 May 2001
Thursday 31 May 2001 (1047) – Lakeland Coaches of Hurst Green operated the Lancashire County Council supported service 280 that linked Preston and Skipton. X906 RHG, an East Lancs Myllenium bodied DAF SB220 new in October 2000, was seen in Whalley bus station when working the 0940 service from Skipton that was due in Preston at 1110. The bus gives a ‘big company’ image and at first I thought the company name had geographical meaning but it was actually a family name. Other photographs on the internet show this was quite a well travelled bus after Lakeland disposed of it. There are photographs of it with First Edinburgh (2002), Truronian (Cornwall )(2003), Countryliner (Sussex) (2006) and Tyne Valley (Northumberland) (2011-2016).
