Crosville SJA 373J on the Runcorn Busway - circa 1977

Crosville SJA 373J on the Runcorn Busway - circa 1977
Circa 1977 – Crosville Motor Services was the National Bus Company subsidiary that provided buses operating services on the Runcorn Busway. Opened in the Autumn of 1971, this Busway is basically a dedicated roadway free from pedestrians and other traffic. It is used by standard buses (i.e. not guided buses). Eastern Coachworks bodied Bristol RE SRL238 (SJA 373J) was new to the North Western Road Car Company in July 1971 (#373) and was one of buses that had a non standard roof profile specifically to operate under an arched canal bridge at Dunham Massey.
