Chenery and Premier Travel coaches passing on Chalk Hill (A11) - 8 Oct 1995

Chenery and Premier Travel coaches passing on Chalk Hill (A11) - 8 Oct 1995
Sunday 8 October 1995 – Carriageway closure enabled this out of the ordinary photograph to be taken of two National Express liveried coaches on Chalk Hill between Red Lodge and Barton Mills. Heading away from the camera (towards Fiveways) is one of the three R W Chenery Kässbohrer-Setra S215HD coaches (H62-H64 PDW new to Bebb Travel) that worked the London-Norwich National Express service 599. Heading towards the camera is one of the G-LWU registered Plaxton bodied Volvo coaches of Premier Travel Services (new to Wallace Arnold) which was however not operating on a National Express working. It was returning empty to Cambridge after working a USAF contract. Barton Mills church is visible above the large yellow road sign on the left.
