The fence in the city centre - HFF

The Tourelle (=turret) hostel lives up to its name. Since 2019, a sculpture by Zhivko Sedlarski entitled ‘La Bretonne’ has stood in the place in front.

LA CLÔTURE DU CENTRE-VILLE. L'auberge de la Tourelle porte bien son nom. Sur la place devant se trouve depuis 2019 une sculpture de Zhivko Sedlarski "La Bretonne".

DER ZAUN IM STADTZENTRUM. Die Tourelle (=Türmchen)-Herberge trägt ihren Namen zu Recht. Auf dem Platz davor steht seit 2019 eine Skulptur von Zhivko Sedlarski "La Bretonne".

Thanks Carol. It was built in granite in the 16th century, and its octagonal turret is lit by arrow slits. At night, the illuminated sculpture is particularly striking. Wishing you a nice weekend.

Boarischa Krautmo ^club

Ist das Baumaterial in der Bretagne Granit oder Sandstein? Hab grad eine geologische Karte gegooglet, soweit ich das verstehe, kommen Schiefer, Granite und Gneise vor, aber auch tertiäre Ablagerungen - mein geologisch ist eindeutig besser als mein französisch ;-)

Danke Markus, bei mir ist es umgekehrt (mein französisch ist besser als meine geologischen Kenntnisse !!), aber soviel weiss ich doch, dass vor allem Granit und Schiefer als Baumaterial in der Bretagne verwendet wurden. Heutzutage wird auch hier mit "modernen" Materialien gebaut, doch die haben nicht mehr so viel Charme... Ein schönes Wochenende.
