Gut getarnt - Well camouflaged

Well camouflaged, this small red assassin bug (Rhynocoris iracundus) lurks for other insects in a herb-Robert (Geranium robertianum) to grab them, stun them with a targeted sting with its proboscis and then suck them out.
Caution: Humans can also be stung when trying to catch a red assassin bug; the sting is said to be very painful!!!
The red assassin bug is relatively rare. It is categorised as "endangered" in the current German Red List. The photo was taken in a Franconian nature reserve.
