... ist der abgebildete kleine Schmetterling. Es ist das Beilfleck-Widderchen (Zygaena loti), also ein auffällig gefärbter Nachtschmetterling, der am Tag aktiv ist. Charakteristisch ist der einzelne große rote Fleck am Ende des Vorderflügels (siehe Notiz). Er kommt häufiger in Süddeutschland vor als in Norddeutschland und fehlt mittlerweile sogar in manchen nördlichen Bundesländern (siehe Internet-Artikel). Das im Bild gezeigte Blutströpfchen ist ein Männchen, die Weibchen sind viel heller gefärbt. Auf die Giftigkeit möchte ich hier noch einmal hinweisen. Die auffällige Farbe ist eine Warnfarbe. Im PiP ein frisch geschlüpftes männliches Beilfleck-Männchen.

... is the little butterfly shown in the photo. It is the slender Scotch burnet (Zygaena loti), a strikingly coloured night butterfly that is active during the day. A characteristic feature is the big single red spot at the end of the forewing (see note). This butterfly is more common in southern Germany than in northern Germany and is now even missing in some German states (see internet article). The slender Scotch burnet shown in the picture is a male, the females are much lighter coloured. I would like to point out the toxicity here once again. The striking colour is a warning colour. In the PiP, you can see a freshly hatched male Zygaena loti.
