Eine unbekannte Mutation bei der Weißen Lichtnelke - An unknown mutation of the white campion - Une mutation inconnue dans le campion blanc - mit PiP

Diese auffällige Pflanze mit gefüllten Blüten fanden meine Frau und ich kürzlich bei einem Spaziergang am Wegrand. Es handelte sich eindeutig um eine weibliche Weiße Lichtnelke (Melandrium album=Silene latifolia). Meine Frau zerlegte eine Blüte der Mutante und stellte fest, dass sie keine Staubblätter und keinen Stempel enthielt, sondern nur ganz viele weiße Kronblätter. Es sieht also so aus, dass vielleicht durch eine Mutation weiße Kronblätter in übergroßer Zahl gebildet wurde und die Ausbildung eines Stempels unterblieb. Das Ergebnis der Blütenzerlegung im Vergleich zu einer normalen Blüte zeigt das PiP.
Klar ist, dass diese "unsinnige" Mutation wieder verschwinden wird, weil sie keine Samen bilden kann. Trotzdem war es eine schöne Erfahrung, in der freien Natur eine Mutation gefunden zu haben, die ohne Zutun des Menschen entstanden ist. Übrigens ergab eine Internet-Recherche, dass bislang noch niemand das geschilderte Phänomen beobachtet hat.

My wife and I recently found this striking double-flowered plant on the side of the path during a walk. It was clearly a female white campion (Melandrium album=Silene latifolia). My wife dissected a blossom of the mutant and found that it contained no stamens and no pistil, just quite a lot of white petals.So it looks as if white petals were formed in excessive numbers, perhaps due to a mutation, and the formation of sex organs was omitted. The result of the flower dissection compared to a normal flower shows the PiP.
It is clear that this " nonsense" mutation will disappear again because it cannot form seeds. Nevertheless, it was a nice experience to have found a mutation in the wild that arose without human intervention. Incidentally, an internet search revealed that no one has yet observed the phenomenon described.
