Justizpalast - Palace of justice
Das Gebäude des Landgerichts Berlin (1904 fertiggestellt) befindet sich in der Littenstr. 12. Die architektonische Besonderheit ist die 30,5 Meter hohe Eingangshalle mit Säulen aus rotem und grünem Sandstein und mit farbigen Rittermotiven im Erdgeschoss und im Treppenaufgang. Im Boden der Halle sind auch noch viele der Originalfliesen mit der Krone als königlichem Emblem vorhanden. Die den Gesamteindruck der Halle mit den geschwungenen Zwillingswendeltreppen und mit den goldenen Schmuckelementen der Decke prägende Stilrichtung ist der Jugendstil in einer Ausprägung, die an den Neobarock angelehnt ist. Das Foto zeigt nur einen kleinen Ausschnitt der gewaltigen Halle! Die Besichtigung und das Fotografieren ist erlaubt, allerdings wird man am Eingang des Gerichtsgebäudes einer strengen Personenkontrolle unterzogen! Personalausweis nicht vergessen!

The building of the Berlin Regional Court is located at Littenstr. 12. The architectural feature is the 30.5 metre high entrance hall with columns of red and green sandstone and with coloured knight motifs on the ground floor and in the staircase. Many of the original tiles with the crown as a royal emblem are still present in the hall floor. The style that characterises the overall impression of the hall with its curved twin spiral staircases and the golden decorative elements of the ceiling is Art Nouveau in a style inspired by the neo-Baroque style.
