AUTUMN
A touch of cold in the Autumn night -
I walked abroad,
And saw the ruddy moon lean over a hedge
Like a red-faced farmer.
I did not stop to speak, but nodded,
And round about were the wistful stars
With white faces like town children.

Un poco fría la noche de otoño -
Passeaba por las afueras,
Y vi a la rojiza luna reclinarse sobre el borde del bosque
Roja como la cara de un campesino.
No me detuve para hablar, pero asentí,
Rodeado de estrelas solitárias
Con rostros blancos como el de los niños de la ciudad.

OUTONO
Um pouco fria a noite de outono -
Andava a passear no estrangeiro,
E vi a lua avermelhada reclinar-se sobre a orla dum bosque
Como a cara vermelha dum campónio.
Não parei para falar, mas acenei,
Rodeado de estrelas melancólicas
Com rostos brancos como os das crianças citadinas.
