Ashgabat, Monument to Muhammet Musa Horezmi, Semseddin Merwezi and Mahmyt Palwan

Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khorezmi (783 - 850) is one of the greatest medieval scholars of the 9th century, a mathematician, astronomer, geographer and historian. In about 830, Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khorezmi created the first known Arabic treatise on algebra.
Renowned astronomer Shemseddin Mervezi (1077 - 1139) is the author of The Star Book, one of the first original astronomy textbooks.
Mahmyt Palwan is one of the famous Oriental thinkers and poets. Mahmyt Palwan lived in the middle of 13th and at the beginning of 14th centuries in Khorezm area.
