Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khorezmi (783 - 850) is one of the greatest medieval scholars of the 9th century, a mathematician, astronomer, geographer and historian. In about 830, Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khorezmi created the first known Arabic treatise on algebra. Renowned astronomer Shemseddin Mervezi (1077 - 1139) is the author of The Star Book, one of the first original astronomy textbooks. Mahmyt Palwan is one of the famous Oriental thinkers and poets. Mahmyt Palwan lived in the middle of 13th and at the beginning of 14th centuries in Khorezm area.

Mahmyt Kashgarly (1008 - 1105) - the famous Turkmen scientist - the founder of Turkish language studies, philosopher of the XI century.

Abu Nasr Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Farabi (870 - 950) - philosopher, mathematician, music theorist, scholar of the East. One of the largest representatives of medieval oriental philosophy. Al-Farabi is the author of comments on the works of Aristotle and Plato. His works influenced the philosophy and science of medieval Western Europe. He is credited with creating the Otrar Library.

Garajaoglan (1606-1689) - turkmen people's poet-singer, the founder of a new trend in folk poetry, who described the human feelings in an impressive language.
