I found this very tiny weevil (Ceratapion carduorum), it was only about 2mm in length, trying to crawl through the hairs and spines on a very prickly thistle leaf at venus Bank in Shropshire. My grateful thanks to Rockwolf for the ID.

A nice specimen of the Green Tortoise Beetle (Cassida viridis). This one landed on the forget-me-nots in front of me and obligingly posed for a couple of shots before dropping off the leaf into the undergrowth never to be seen again.

I think this is Tingis cardui, The Spear Thistle Lacebug. Found in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, this one was actually on Potentilla leaves.

A favourite stopping point of mine near Shepherds Rock on the Stiperstones in Shropshire, the mist in the valleys when I got there was a bonus, I just sat and watched the world go by for a while whilst listening to the Skylarks, perfect.
