Juvenile European Robin - Erithacus rubecula

Juvenile European Robin - Erithacus rubecula
This beautiful juvenile Eurasian Robin - Erithacus rubecula - came visiting our small garden the other day and politely stood on the fence while I took his (or her) picture. It will lose all those spots eventually and gain its familiar smooth brown coat, red face and chest and grey/white underparts. Robins are quite small birds measuring just 14cm beak to tail, they eat insects, worms, fruits and seeds and can be very friendly to humans. Their voice is very loud for such a small bird.
