The K4 Telephone Box at Whitley Bay. The stamp vending / post box fittings.
The plate lists "Last Collection" times as 9am Monday to Friday and 7am on Saturdays. No stamps for sale ...
One of a very tiny group of survivors from what was only a limited production run. Designed in 1927 to combine a normal call box with some Post Office functions, specifically stamp vending and a post box.
Grade II listed, and due for renovation since permission was obtained in 2022 [a local community group are seeking funds] as part of a wider scheme.
