B&M[25] - Emperor Moth

Male Emperor moth [Saturnia pavonia], sadly deceased. [the grid is 5mm squares].
However, it is a splendid example, note the branched antenna and prominent eye-spots.
Found in the garden after a very cold night, it was not actually frosty, but close enough.
{apparently, the female has smooth antenna, and although there are eye spots, her colouration would be far greyer, almost monotone}.
