CoL[25] - how do they make up the price ?
You can clearly see the hike in wholesale costs from October 2022, mostly as a direct result of market & geopolitical uncertainty after russia's aggressive & illegal invasion of Ukraine.
Only recently [23rdMay2025] OFGEM announced a 7% reduction in the domestic energy price cap, applicable from 1st July to 30th September 2025, but that is still 10% higher than a year ago [2024] This should see a reduction in household energy bills over the summer.
