Late summer, 1969. I'm fifteen and sitting with my little cousin Helen in her front yard, Fairfield, CT. She is three - and very adored!

First Communion portrait purchased in Branford, CT. Probably c. 1920s. No other information available. Found in a Vintage Store on a visit to Connecticut, 2023.

A First Communion tintype showing the commonly added pink cheeks and the less commonly added gold touches. (More easily seen in the largest image.) Her brooch, prayer book, and (strangely) her left ring finger have all been daubed with a tiny amount of gold. I would guess that this was probably taken in the 1890s but there's no way that I know of to date it exactly. Found in a Vintage Store on a visit to Connecticut, 2023.

Re-posted for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD Taken by my new boyfriend in 1978, my future husband to be, this was snapped by a rusty old Argus, my ancient but well loved camera, near Weathersfield, Vermont. Guess the film didn't advance on this one. This always reminded me of the song by Melanie (remember her?) "Sometimes when I am feeling as big as the land with the velvet hills in the small of my back and my hands are playing in sand… …there's a chance peace will come in your life please buy one.."

I'm not sure if this is a girl or boy - sometimes hard to tell in this era if they're young. (Guessing this is c.1910 - 1920.) Probably a girl given the detailed, beautiful smocking. The studio is imprinted on the bottom right: G.W. Baldwin, Rutland, Vermont Studio portrait purchased in East Middlebury, Vermont.

Uploaded for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: OUR GANG (Kids gathered in a group portrait) On the way home from vacation, we stopped at a real old junk store in Newport, New Hampshire. Amongst thousand of junky items I spied a box marked FREE on the checkout counter with some really cool vintage photos - so I picked out a bunch. This was one of quite a few taken by a man who worked for some years at the town newspaper, and then opened a print shop, where he apparently worked for many years. I would guess this is mid to late 1950s, early 1960s. The photographer's name (written in pencil on the back) is William Patten. The birthday girl is the second girl to the right of the three little girls on the left front. She had a thin, dark bow around her neck and is standing next to the very blonde boy.

A re-post of a 9 year old Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of: HALLOWEEN Apologies for a re-post for the same group, but the majority of my Halloween photos are post-kid - so after 1987. My brother Nicholas and I on the porch of Lombard Street, where, for the first two years, we lived on the 2nd floor. I'm 11 and Nicholas is 9.

This was taken eight years ago. This year the colors have been slow to come in and are only now beginning to show the reds, oranges, and bright yellows that make the landscape so pretty. This tree is at the top of my hill on the corner of Main and Mountain St. HFF friends!

My Auntie Joan, who is visiting from Wales (in the middle, in the white jacket) had heard about Dunkin' Donuts and wanted to see what they were like, so we bought her a box. She also wanted evidence to take back and show friends and relatives in Wales - so here we are, striking a pose, to confirm "the proof". L to R: My boyfriend (husband-to-be), Brian, me, Joan, my friend Cheryl, my Dad, and Cheryl's boyfriend, Gene, in the back. My Dad, Brian, and Gene apparently drinking beer with the donuts. Eww!
