How the crochet-altered top looks on. This was a thrifted cotton sleeveless blouse--not my size, but I liked the mirrorwork and the print. So I cut out the side seams and crocheted in the gaps, and crocheted some cap sleeves after closing the sides.

One is destined for a student campaign worker who did a great job in Durham NC; the other is headed to Washington DC, for a friend to wear during the run-up to Inauguration Day.

This doesn't really capture the intense redness of the sunset last weekend, when we were under smoky skies from the Anaheim and Sylmar fires here; but it's the best I could do.
