Crochet-altered sweater

This was a thrifted wool-blend pullover--I've had it for years, needed to freshen it up. Felted it a bit, cut it down the middle of the front, added crocheted trim and a button, now it's a cozy cardigan. Yarn also thrifted.

Crocheted "powdered wig"
| |
|
Just in time for Presidents Day, but it's really part of a Mozart costume for school. I crocheted a simple cap, then made four squares and attached them as "curls" on both sides. For the swept-back hair on the crown, I threaded lengths of yarn into the front stitches of the cap and tied them in back for the pigtail of the wig.
"Accessible" swingset

This is the new swingset at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach. See the two blue accessible swings? See how there's no wheelable way to GET to the two blue accessible swings?
Sigh.

Tree-trimming, So Cal style

If you look closely, there's a man way up that palm tree, trimming off some of the branches. January 2009.

Found this silvery purse with a Kate Spade label at a thriftshop for $3. It was in very nice shape. But I made a mess of it (those would be beer stains from my high school reunion's "bar night"). I've been holding onto it for a few years, thinking I should be able to do something about it. (See next pictures.)
