Symbole des Pays-Bas
Hoogmade (Pays-Bas) – Dans ce pays, des moulins, il y en a presque partout et quand j’étais en mal d’inspiration photographique, je cherchais un nouveau moulin à immortaliser.
Nombre d’entre eux sont classés au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, notamment ceux de Kinderdijk. La quasi-totalité des 19 moulins sont sur la commune de Molenlanden. C’est la plus grande concentration de moulins des Pays-Bas. Ils ont été construits entre 1738 et 1740 pour pomper l’eau des terres inondées et créer les polders. Certains sont encore opérationnels pour assister les stations de pompage en cas de crue majeure.
Le moulin sur la photo ne fait pas partie des 19 évoqués ci-dessus. Il est moins monumental et se trouve sur la commune de Hoogmade.
