Sunset from Dante's View
Sunset at Dante's View in Death Valley National Park is something that should not be missed when visiting the park. The viewpoint is on the east of the valley in the Funeral Mountains of the Amargosa Range and is named for Dante Alighieri, the author of The Divine Comedy and with his "Inferno" in mind. The photo looks to the north over Badwater Playa.
Sunset from Dante's View
Several evenings in Death Valley National Park we watched the sunset from Dante's View on the east side of the park in the Funeral Mountains of the Amargosa Range. The viewpoint, high above the valley, is named after Dante Alighieri, the author of The Divine Comedy, probably with his "Inferno" in mind. This photo looks southwest from the viewpoint.
Feral Burro
There are over 2000 feral burros in Death Valley National Park, the descendants of burros brought in by prospectors before Death Valley became a national park. Upper Antelope Canyon
Taken in Upper Antelope Canyon, which we toured with a Navaho guide, this photo is from the canyon but near the exit. Antelope Canyon is near Page, Arizona, and can be visited only as part of a tour, since it is on the territory of the Navaho Nation.

Wyoming Paintbrush
This Indian Paintbrush was photographed in the Fountain Paint Pots area of Yellowstone National Park. I believe it is the Wyoming Paintbrush, though these Paintbrushes are very difficult to distinguish.

Photographed at Christianson's Nursery in the Skagit Valley while there to see the daffodils in bloom.
