Saguaro National Park
From the archives, this was taken in the Tucson Mountain District (east) of Saguaro National Park while hiking the Sendero Esperanza trail to Wasson Peak.
Shafer Canyon Overlook
This is the view from Shafer Canyon Overlook in the Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park with the La Sal Mountain visible in the distance. The overlook is one of the first stops after entering the park and passing the visitors' center.
Near Mesa Arch
From the archives, this is the view from the area of Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park. The La Sal Mountain are just visible on the horizon.
Twenty Mule Team Wagon
There was a lot of mining in Death Valley before it became a national park and among other things borax was mined there and hauled out of the valley in these huge wagons drawn by twenty teams of mules. Because of the difficulty in getting the borax out of the valley the venture was never very successful. This wagon is parked at the Harmony Borax Works near Furnace Creek where the borax was gotten ready for shipment.
Devil's Cornfield
The Devil's Cornfield is along the main road through Death Valley and near Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes. In this area the wind has blown the sand away from around the plants leaving them looking like shocks of corn, hence the name for the area.

From the archives this is the trail to Observation Point in Zion National Park. The trail leads to Weeping Rock and through Echo Canyon to some of the most magnificent views in the park.
