Evening at Maricopa Point
An evening photo from our first trip to Grand Canyon National Park. We arrived in the evening and after setting up camp hiked part of the Rim Trail.
Mohave Point
Another one from the archives, this is of Mohave Point in Grand Canyon National Park. We had made a trip to Grand Canyon but heavy snowfall defeated our plans to hike into the canyon and though we hiked the Rim Trail we only stayed one night before going on to warmer climes.
The Abyss
Taken from the Rim Trail in Grand Canyon National Park, this photo was taken near a viewpoint overlooking The Abyss.
South Kaibab Trail
These are a couple more photos of Grand Canyon from the archives, both of the South Kaibab trail which we hiked to Skeleton Point. Skeleton Point lies beyond O'Neill Butte, the formation on the right of the photo.
South Kaibab Trail
When this photo was taken we were hiking into Grand Canyon via the South Kaibab Trail. We hiked beyond o'Neill Butte, the formation straight ahead, to Skeleton Point, beyond the butte,
Old Juniper
This was taken along the Rim Trail in Grand Canyon National Park near Yavapai Point. The trail follows the road along the south rim.
Grand Canyon Evening
Going through some archives and decided to post this evening photo from Grand Canyon, taken just outside the east entrance to the national park at an overlook. We went on from here to car-camp for the night in the national forrest.
Sunrise at Factory Butte
Skyline Rim or Moonscape Overlook is near Factory Butte. We watched the sunrise there and this was the butte from the overlook.
Moonscape Overlook
Moonscape Overlook is part of Skyline Rim, a canyon rim overlooking the moonscape-like valley some 500 feet below. Along the overlook is this point to which one can walk if daring enough. We were not but the girl in the photo was and stood on the point while her boyfriend took photos of her and the sunrise..
