Loch Beannach, Assynt
After a visit to Ardvreck Castle we decide to take a walk in an area called Little Assnt, located just a few km north of the castle. A wonderful stroll past beautiful lochans full of small islands that looked inviting even in our worsening weather. This is relatively small at only 2km at its maximum length and 4 metres deep. As I was taking this the rains had begun to fall so protecting my lens was also a priority. I think you may agree though, it was well worth getting the camera out of the bag.

Glad you liked it Toz. By saying the 'bag' what I really mean is my 'rucksack'. I have a small lightweight rucksack that just about fits the camera and one extra lens. However, like you I have it most of the time in my hands and if the rains/snow comes, I tuck it under my coat whist still having the strap around my neck.

Yes, I think there are just two colours up here -a rusty red/brown and a winter white. Glad you liked another of my Scottish jobs.

A deceptively beautiful landscape, which needs to be viewed large to be fully appreciated. I love the colour palette and the detail. The light is lovely, especially where it is reflected on the water!
