Greylag Geese (Anser anser)

Greylag Geese (Anser anser)
Seen in a lochan near the far larger Loch Ard. This is the western form with its more orange beak. These live and breed in the North here, namely Scotland, Iceland and Scandinavia. The eastern variant has a more yellow beak and inhabits some parts of East Europe. They often winter in the Mediterranean area.
Enjoy full size.

An image that summons up feelings of tranquility and peace Herb..............the geese look lovely and I like the ripples on the water and the distorted reflections. The surrounding landscape is gorgeous...........and the light is just perfect!

Good that you managed to see these geese Keith. Quite wild here but I see you have them down your way too. A lowly little spot with this light that soon went far cloudier and indeed we had heavy rain an hour or so later.
