Angler's Crag. Ennerdale Water

Angler's Crag. Ennerdale Water
Walking westwards on the southern shore of the lake starts to get a bit hairy, especially for the uninitiated hiker. A bit of scrambling here so one has to be careful. Just past the walk highpoint where the silhouetted figure is, there are some big rocks that must be climbed over to proceed. Once over, the going gets easy. At least the rains have stopped.

Enjoy full screen.

An impressive image viewed large. As you note, this walk could be a challenge for the inexperienced or less fit!

A part of the lake with a lot of character Toz. This section is often left out by walkers. Yes, better doing this in the dry.

Sounds like good advice Herb. The people give scale to the scene really well!
A beautiful shot. Take care and enjoy your weekend. Rosa.

Yes, you don't want to twist your ankle around here. Sometimes a figure is good, for sure.

Beautiful contrast between the slopes
One steep and the other with soft green hills
The walking trail seems to be only for experienced hikers!
But it must compensate the effort!
Splendid, Herb!

Yes these steeper sides are in stark contrast to the gentle north side of the fells. Most of the lake walk is fairly easy but this entire southern shoreside is quite difficult without some experience and the right footwear. The crag show here is by far the most difficult part. To complete the full circuit of the lake like we did is a nice achievement.

Enjoy the weekend. Herb

It does look a bit steep and difficult underfoot there Herb...........but I have no doubt you and your wife managed the route with aplomb ..!!

Some lovely earthy colours and textures on the left of this shot............and I like the patchwork of fields in the distance. Good to see some people in shot for scale, especially the figure silhouetted against the sky!

A great walk which I am sure you would have made the most of too. (see my reply to Judite above). Yes, we made it OK but Eileen is starting to feel the effects of these rough walks now. (Me too for that matter) Sometimes some figures do make a nice addition to the scale of the place. Very glad you liked it of course.

Keep safe. Herb
