Lake Windermere and Wansfell pike from Wray Castle
It is getting increasing difficult to take pictures around this beautiful lake without tourist being present. Here we see the average weather and the Lakeland fells with a light covering of snow. If you are prepared to get a little cold you can also have a very pleasant cruise around the lake enjoying your hot cup of tea.

Hi Steve, amazing as it sounds, I sometimes go to the Lakes without firing a shot. This walk from Wray Castle (which is still being modernised but looks great) was new for me. Glad you like this vista. Cheers, Herb

Super shot, Herb. I like the fact that there are no speed-boats in sight - how did you manage that? ... and that the clouds make it appear as if the mountains might go higher than they actually do, leaving a lot to the imagination.
Terrific all round shot in other words!

Hi Andy, good to see you here as well as 23. I did'nt see any speed boats at all up here but I have a rather nice shot of the little cruise boat coming in here. Yep, the mountains in the cloud do make it for me too and I see what you mean. Glad you like it.

Thanks a lot Jaap. Very happy you like this one. I wish Ipernity would be like Flickr, inasmuch that Flickr lets you know that a photo has been picked for Explorer. I never know unless somebody like you actually tells me.

May I add a brief word of thanks here too for Jaap. I had no idea what explore was about until I started noting Jaap's comments. Intrigued, I investigated and then understood! Now I check on explore every so often but still rely to a large extent on Jaap's helpful notifications!
