Corran

Corran
The tiny village of Corran on Loch Linnhe is a delight to walk through. Here on its beach is yet another sign of times past. Of fishing fleets and a lost age.

James, , Nick Weall and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

Is the boat abandoned? A pity, so nice.

I pretty well thought so Daniela. It looked in much worse condition closer up. It made for a fine photo though.

... abandoned boats: a favorite topic, but poignant and bittersweet ...

... once a lovely vessel in a blue-collar hard-working way; tilted here so details on the deck show (some electronics higher up too) ...

... nice shot Herb, and the omnipresent hillsides there too ...

Hi Wally, so nice to see you again. Yes, these are always great to photograph but always leaves a sad taste too. I didn't try to board here and so have no idea if there were electronics in the bridge. Glad you like it.

Hi Steve, its quite remarkable how we happy snappers get to the same places! Your shots certainly make this same boat look young and almost healthy. Multiple years and storms later it is starting to show its lack of care. Maybe one of us photographers should give her a lick of new paint! Always good to see you. Cheers, Herb

Excellent composition Herb, I love pictures of abandoned vessels stuck on the shore, I makes me wonder about their history.

Superb shot especially with the fine mist, this is the kind of shot I wish I had taken
