HERE WE SMOKE FISH

HERE WE SMOKE FISH
I wonder if it's as addictive as nicotine? ;-)

Much better than smoking cigarettes!
But I'm sure it could get addictive!

I love certain smoked fish, but i didn't like the artificial taste of the scampi tails we had here. Andy.

Good real smoked fish (as opposed to the chemical dip) was always a signature of that part of the coast. A good addiction !

It definitely is a good addiction to have, Pam, but as far as I could gather it was only smoked shellfish they had here.

If someone doesn't like smoked fish they can alwas go to the White Lion;-) I think there's nothing better than freshly smoked fish:-)

The White Lion had smoked scampi tails on their menu, Gudrun, but being a Scot, it was wiser and cheaper to opt for a bag of that from the smoke house. ;-)

Well, if you're a Scot you have to like smoked fish. Arbroath smokies, finnan haddies, mackerel, smoked salmon, scallops, mussels, langoustines.............mmmmmmm...............

The best breakfasts I have ever had were Arbroath smokies in Arbroath, and real porridge in a small Northumberland village called Lowick. I must be a lapsed Scot though, Jean, having to admit that I had dark brown sugar and cream on the porridge. Ever since we went to Oban and sailed round a fish farm, I cannot face smoked salmon. There was too much information about disease.

Smokes are only allowed to be sold in plain wrappers here - I wonder how these are wrapped. :-)

Unfortunately the smoked scampi tails were in a clear plastic bag - not environmentally friendly. Also there were masses of plastic mesh cluttering the beach here. All almost indestructible and a danger to sea-life. But we all like fish .....
