The reason I'm so busy in the garden at the moment

The reason I'm so busy in the garden at the moment
The Sunday Challenge: A place you love

My favourite place is Scotland, particularly St.Andrews where I was brought up, followed by Norway, a beautiful country. Nevertheless, I love walking in to my garden in Shropshire at all times of the year, and this is the entrance to it - straight off the pavement. It's a shame I can't put a link to the scents. It's keeping me very busy at the moment, and I seem to be in there all the time, and not so much on-line.

The PiPs show a couple of individual 'treats', Zantedeschia albomaculata, the garden shed which used to be a privy, and Stipa gigantia.

, christel.k, autofantasia, Maeluk and 11 other people have particularly liked this photo

Thank you, Sami. I'm quite keen on gardening, it's very relaxing for the most part and takes one's mind off worrying things.

I used to know the names of every plant, but now, if I'm struggling to remember, I just call them George or Fred. ;-)

Thank you, Marj. There's nothing quite like an English cottage garden. :-)

I enjoy the garden every day of the year, Luc, and my aim is to heve something to look at in every season.

A wonderful garden I like rampaging plants although getting up the path to the greenhouse is a bit of a challenge at the moment

Rampaging and jungle come to mind in this garden, Peter. No chemicals are used, and the only real problem is plants seeding into the gravel. They are dug up, potted on and sold at the local plant fares. This path is the route to our back door which we use most of the time. It has been know for it to be almost impassable. ;-)

You'd have liked it yesterday, Wierd, sitting on the terrace with a cup of coffee and the newspapers. Today it's not so good. ;-)

A very lovely garden indeed Amelia ... the pip are nice to see. Such a lot of work but it looks like a great place to spend time.

My husband fell in love with Scotland, well actually he has always been fond of Scotland. When we had the opportunity to visit we so enjoyed ourselves. We did get to St. Andrew's and loved the old architecture. Everyone was so pleasant. :)

if I had a choice, I'd move back to Scotland like a shot, Chris; but that will never be an option, so I have to make the best of what there is in life. I am so pleased that you enjoyed St.Andrews. It is a very historic place with lovely architecture as you say.

A truly beautiful garden Amelia and one of which you should be genuinely proud. My wife is like you and loves to garden ... she is the plant expert and I'm the labourer! ;)

Thank you all for your lovely compliments. Today I have some 'running repairs' to do in the garden after a day of p[pouring rain and strong winds yesterday. That's life. ;-)

Wishing you luck in sorting things out Amelia ... so much for 'flaming June' ... perhaps we should rename it! ;)
