Arbroath harbour

Arbroath harbour
Arbroath, settled in the 12th century, lies 15 miles to the north east of Dundee. The attractive historic working harbour remains in action today and long sandy beaches and stunning sandstone cliffs stretch out on either side of the town. A great are for walking.
The town's most famous product is the Arbroath Smokie, (delicious), which was first created in the village of Auchmithie, just up the coast from here. This is a harbour inside the main harbour.

Thank you Jaap. The levels inside this part of the harbour are maintained by lock gates, which open and close with the tides.

If I go too long without seeing the sea, I go slightly mad, Dany, and where we live it takes about 2 hours to get there. I always enjoy being by the sea.

It's been a while since I was here, Amelia. I love the variety of colours of the buildings. I wouldn't eat an Arbroath Smokie, if you paid me. LOL. Cheers, Joe

I had Arbroath Smokie for breakfast, Joe, and it was delicious! You might like the Italian ice-cream sold in the salmon pink building on the left though. LOL
Cheers, Amelia

You are making me homesick for Scotland. It has been many years since we lived in the UK and were in Scotland. Is a Smokie a herring? If so, I'm coming for breakfast.
