(Google Translate: I use this every day to translate the comments I get from my wonderful international visitors, and I also translate description text on photos of yours that I cannot read...I really WISH I was fluent in more than one language, but alas, I know only a little Spanish and just a few words in French...THANK GOODNESS FOR GOOGLE TRANSLATE to bring us all together!!)

Thank you for all of your comments and favorites. When you leave a comment on my current images, I will use that as your personal invitation to visit your photo stream and to see and comment on your pictures This is something that I love to do, and when I leave a comment, I give it thought and consideration, because I know it's important and I care about what I'm looking at. As well, it's a wonderful way for me to meet people from around the world, and as time goes on, I get to know people that visit my photo stream and I get new friends who share my passion for photography! I hope that you like my images, and I know I will enjoy seeing yours too!

I started off with a Canon SX30 IS super zoom in February 2011, and moved up to a Canon 5D Mark II in November 2011. It's been an awesome experience for me! Over 20,000 pictures later, I still have so much to learn, but every day is a new opportunity to get better! I'm in love with my 100mm macro lens, and almost never use anything else! However, I also use our other lenses, which include a wide angle, telephoto, and 28-200mm "walk-around" lens. Photography is fabulous, especially with a powerhouse like the Mk II!

I've never taken a class in photography but I HAVE taken several semesters of classes at the Academy of Art in San Francisco specifically for graphic design. I have over 25 years of experience as a designer and this has helped me to compose my shots and find proper balance. A life-long love of nature has helped me find interesting subjects that most would walk past. Furthermore, I read a lot about techniques online, in books, and I watch YouTube videos too. Some of my best sources of education are my amazing and talented Flickr friends, who inspire me every day and encourage me to try to take the very best pictures I can!

I love all types of photography and enjoy trying to take a better picture every time I press that shutter release. I love to learn new techniques and to expand my photographic knowledge whenever I can. However, I am most drawn to nature photography, and specifically, macro images of the beauty I find all around me. That being said, I do love taking pictures of just about anything, so my range of subject matter is all over the place! The world is so full of wonderful things to take pictures of, and I love showing everyone the world through my eyes!

PLEASE CONTACT ME if you want to use my pictures for any purpose. I am very happy to allow use for most reasons, but I would like to know about it beforehand.
