Guido, do not feel obligated to stick with that banner ;-) On Happy Fence Friday group Steve came up with a brilliant idea to change the banner every now and then.

After seeing some of the contributions, I say the background and composition plays an important role. It is maybe even more important to find some interesting context than on many other "genres".

So, for me this group provides a good learning experience on the subject.

With just a quick glance at the photos here (in icon form), I can already see what you are talking about, Sami. Very interesting. Of course i would hope we always pay attention to the context around our subjects, but this really forces one to do so.

I will have to keep an eye out for the sun so i can try out some more.

Sami, good idea to change the banner now and then. As the topic of the group is very specific there is certainly not that much material as in the Happy Fence Friday group. Thus aiming to replace the banner every week probably would be a little bit too ambitious. But we can replace the banner whenever we have a good idea for a new banner. I will start a separate discussion thread where group members can post suggestions.

Some thoughts with regard to your second post:

I have already learned something from this group, too. I am surprised by the great variety of shadow selfies. These photos can look very different depending on the background. And on some photos parts of the shadow interact in a very interesting way with other objects or with the shadows of other objects.

I have seen that you have some more very interesting shadow selfies of Mr. Nobody. :-) I have set the weekly limit per user to only three images. But feel free to post your other shadow selfies in the coming weeks. And if you don't I will invite more of your photos. :-)

To all members: If you see an interesting or creative shadow selfie taken by other users, don't hesitate to invite these photos to this group.

Do notice how to pose on shadow selfies ;-)

Mr Nobody in the playground

Stretch your arms to make the shadow look better. Sometimes you can't even see the camera display, and you just have to hope the composition is good enough. Keep in mind you can always try to crop the image afterwards, to make the composition look better.

Here I was lucky. I only rotated the image a little on Snapseed app to get a larger interrupting dark shadow on top right corner removed.
