Wonderful, Bill. I’ve just been all the way to Florence and the Uffizi to see a Gormley exhibition. Took a few photographs, but no result half as strong as this. A great treatment, it seems completely in tune with what Gormley calls: “ a reminder of our relationship with deep space: the meeting between sky and earth...”
Words are always inadequate. An image like this captures the power of these figures, the way they stand in for us.

I've seen mist of the iron men here, but missed this one sinking into the sand. In Stavanger one of Gormley's men is actually covered by the sea in the harbour, I have often wordred if it's still upright.
