Mill St Barracks
Mill St Barracks was built in 1861 as headquarters for 47th Lancashire Rifle Volunteer Corps. The building has been home to many units over the years until it was finally decommissioned in 1969. It is alleged that the barracks are haunted by the ghosts of former soldiers, nurses, nuns, and a three legged dog called Bruce, searching for his master. The building featured in an episode of the TV show “Paranormal Lockdown” in 2018.
