Just out of curiosity. Did you crop, and if, then how much. Any chance to see the original then. I have also tried to use G5X for the macro challenges, but it just does not seem to focus close enough. G12 was better on this.

The original one.
For me the biggest disappointment of the G5X is the macro, for sure the G12 was much better in this. I try to get as close as possible, when shooting and just crop, when editing. Because of the 20.2 megapixel it works all right. With zooming I get the dof working better.

Thanks for the information. You remember this?:

That is my experience with G5X so far. There I used even 36.8 mm (35 mm equivalent: 100.9 mm) and cropped something like to one sixth from the original, which means 1615 x 1615.

The good thing about 1 inch sensor cameras is that the image still looks pretty good with full resolution.

that is about the same, what I have done. MM is a perfect group to make experiments, I hope I will find a better solution. In internet I found people having the same problem.

I did a quick test: www.ipernity.com/gp/serola/11332/d319005c

But that is in good light. The focusing seems to be rather problematic especially in low light.
