Leaves on the track

Leaves on the track
My photo for World Photography Day.
This is a place I walk passed on most days and it always seems to look very different through the seasons and water levels high and low.
There was no train running today and the leaves on the track were quite a surprise. A first sign that Autumn is only a few weeks away.

Deborah Lundbech, Valfal, Fred Fouarge, Annaig56 and 6 other people have particularly liked this photo

Nicely composed Colin........I like all the different green tones (including the paintwork of the bridge) and the carpets of golden brown leaves. A reminder that autumn is on it's way perhaps?

It looks so peaceful, Colin. But you have to be careful when crossing the bridge: with the leaves and the rain, there is a risk of slipping....

Yes even when there is no train I would not try walking over there

This is the kind of place I wish I had been for World Photography Day! I am calmer just looking at it.

I love that you photographed something that is common for you. We often forget that things like that can be special. Did you see it with new eyes as you considered this for the group contribution? Did you have someone with you when you went walking? (I most often have to walk by myself, but I love strolling with a friend.)

And what type of train runs on such a narrow track? Does it run often through that place?

Thank you for sharing this delight with us.

Here is one of the miniature train which takes families around the park mostly on sunny summer days but often when there are events like the Car Show.

I mostly walk alone on this route when taking a 30 minute circuit for early morning exercise. In truth I took this as a backup photo for the day. I was sure I would get a wildlife photo on the longer walk with my sister in the afternoon but failed to get my dragonfly in focus when I was too slow.

Thanks for publicising World Photography Day.

What a cute tiny train that is! We have a small train that runs through our old amusement park here, but it is probably twice as big as that one! Very fun.

So smart of you to take a "backup photo"!

And my pleasure. It's been fun. It really is a Club activity, I just used my personal account instead of the team account - partly for logistical reasons of inviting people.

Hopefully more notice next year.
