Mantua - Lago di Mezzo

Right behind the Virgil statue featured elsewhere, there’s a lot of water. The marshes which once used to threaten Mantua, and made it an unhealthy place, were bridled by dikes and drains many centuries ago, though the town still has a bad reputation for its gnats.
