Sturt Desert Pea

Sturt Desert Pea
Swainsona formosa, Sturt's Desert Pea, is one of Australia's best known wildflowers. It is native to the hot, remote and arid regions of central and north-western Australia, growing in dry sand and rock.

There are colour variants...they will not grow in gardens, just idiosyncratically in rocks and sand, in remote places. it is he floral emblem of my state of SA as they were first noted here in the far north deserts! I rarely see them, so was delighted on this trip to find 3 colour variants! Thanks, Leonora
