Ornamental wall
In Melbourne I stayed in a newly built hotel with this feature wall, much better than the "standard box" we see too often. Wishing everyone a Happy Wednesday Wall.

Macro Mondays - tasty food
For Macro Mondays group 1/1/2024, topic #342, "Tasty" .
New Year in the Southern Hemisphere is notable for all the great fresh fruits available. Cherries, such as these, are at their prime and very tasty indeed.
Happy Macro Monday and have a happy and healthy New Year, everyone.
Beneath the Tree Ferns
My grand-daughter admiring the Tree Ferns (Dicksonia antarctica) in the Dandenong Ranges near Melbourne.
Wishing everyone a Happy Bench Monday and, what's more, a Happy New Year.
And after 2023?
Antarctic sea ice, with an ice shelf in the distance. As we finish 2023 there is a record low extent of Antarctic sea ice, following similar lows in Arctic sea ice earlier in the year. This works well viewed large.
For now, I'll wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.
The Boatshed
"The Boatshed" is something of a local institution, specialising in seafood and particularly fish & chips. (see also PiP).
At this stage I'm about to go away with family until almost new year. With that, I wish everyone not just a Happy Wednesday Wall, but all my very best wishes for the festive season, whether you celebrate Yuletide, Midsummer/winter, Christmas or something else. Have a good one!

Synthetic fir needles
For Macro Mondays group 18/12/2023, topic #340, "Fir needles - including artificial ones" . To say the least, fir trees are uncommon in Australia, but these synthetic fir needles are on a fold-up tree used by my family at this time of year for many years.
Spencer Street
Spencer Street is one of the main railway stations in Melbourne. It was many years since I had visited and I was surprised that not only has it been totally rebuilt, but it now is privatised and called Southern Cross station.
While you await the train (or whatever else), Happy Bench Monday, everyone.

The Big Golden Guitar
Alongside the road to Tamworth, outside the information centre, you will find the Big Golden Guitar, standing 12 metres high. Tamworth bills itself as the home of country music in Australia and, every year, has what it claims is Australia's largest music festival. Here are some of the highlights from the 2023 Festival if you'd care to check the link.
Waiting to dock
The replica 15th century Caravel, "Notorious" is currently at anchor in the Clyde River, but I understand it will be docking to enable public inspections this coming weekend. A clickable PiP of the boat itself is in the PiP and shows it better, but this is about fences! Wishing everyone a Happy Fence Friday and a good weekend to follow.
